It was a beautiful day. The morning brought cool air (53F) and overcast skies. Throughout the morning there was a cold wind from time to time. Definitely fall is in the air! The skies cleared by noon and when I surmounted the Urbia pass and began the long descent into the valley, the air became suddenly warmer and dryer. Although the ascent and descent were not as difficult as yesterday’s, it still gave my knees and muscles a workout.
It’s impossible to overstate how much I thank God for my trekking poles. They have been invaluable in helping me uphill and keeping me steady on the downhills. Today’s theme in the spiritual exercises I’m following is one of gratitude to God for all he has done for me throughout my pilgrimage of life. I am struck by the many loving, kind, and generous people with whom I have been blessed. I can see God’s grandeur both in the natural beauty surrounding me and the people who have loved and cared for me along the way
